Who we are?

The 60th Degree Society, founded in 1984, is a fraternal not-for-profit social organization located in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. Its membership is open to retired gentlemen who are 60+ years of age and appreciate the opportunity to meet with like-minded individuals and participate in its social functions.

Example of Activities enjoyed by the membership?

The 60th Degree Society membership meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month for informal discussions and have the occasional speaker to enlighten us on various topics of interest. Some previous topics were on the Space Program, the Township of Oakville, Crime Stoppers, Senior Health Issues, etc.

Formal meetings are normally followed by the opportunity to engage in Euchre, Cribbage and informal discussion groups. The Oakville 60th Degree Society also has a very active list of social events that are available for our members, their spouses and friends. Some of these events include a corn roast, a Christmas dinner, Oktoberfest, pot-luck luncheons or dinners as well as off-site 5 pin bowling (fall and winter), golf tournaments, bus trips and boat cruises. Members can also participate in an optional breakfast get together on the 4th Wednesday of each month for further camaraderie at a reasonably priced restaurant should they so desire.

These events allow members, their wives and friends to interact together enabling a welcome fellowship for them as well.

Meeting duration:

Meeting commence at 1:15pm on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month and are usually 1.5hrs in duration. Members can then participate in card games or informal discussions until 3:30pm.

Where we convene?

Members meet at the Oakville Banquet Halls, 1494 Wallace Road, Oakville, ON, L6L 2Y2.
1 block East of 3rd line south of Speers Rd. Meals are not provided or serve at the meetings.
